Code of the Wolves:
1) Elders and queens are fed first when prey is caught. Taking food to the elders and queens and fixing up their nests is the apprentices job.
2) The leader has complete authority over the pack. His/her word is law. Anyone disrespecting the leader is punished according to the leader's own judgement.
3) Give thanks for the life of your prey after you have caught it.
4) The deputy of the pack organizes patrols to hunt and mark the border.
5) An apprentice must be at least over 6 moons old.
6) If a pack must go into battle, they can, but remember this: to kill is to end a life. You do not need to end a life just to get the point across.
7) To kill a wolf that has done nothing wrong is murder. Any wolf that breaks this law must be cast into exile.
8) The medicine wolf must first speak with the Great Wolf Spirits at Star Lake, and secondly, a medicine wolf is denied cubs.
9) A medicine wolf must take an apprentice that shows promise in the ways of herbs.
10) Another pack must not cross the border or hunt in another pack's territory.
11) Once every full moon, the four pack leaders must travel to the Wolf Moon gathering place in the center of the valley, where all four packs' territories meet. A temporary truce is held during this meeting.
12) Before becoming a leader, the leader candidate must travel to Star Lake and receive his name and special powers gifted to him by the Great Wolf Spirits. His name is his cub name, except with the last part "pool" added onto it. (as in Graypool, Rainpool, from Rain, Gray.)
